By-Election - Alert
The sitting Councillor for Gillingham South has resigned the seat and a by-election will be held on the 6th February 2025. Gillingham & Rainham Conservatives are delighted to announce that they have selected local resident and business owner Saboor Ahmed as our Prospective Council Candidate.
Welcome
We are the Constituency Association for the Parliamentary seat of Gillingham & Rainham which came into existance at the 2010 General Election. The constituency is situated at the eastern end of Medway and is one of three constituencies that makes up the Unitary Authority of Medway Council.
Our primary role is to return a Conservative Member of Parliament and Conservative Councillors to serve on Medway Council. We work with other Kent Constituencies to work for the election of a Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner.

Gillingham & Rainham Conservatives welcomes new Members who live in the constituency and share our values and aims.
- Become a Member and contribute to the running of the Party via an annual subscription and;
- Attend social functions where we raise money to fight up-coming elections and;
- Join us for regular campaigning sessions including canvassing and leaflet delivery and;
- Apply to stand for election as a Councillor on Medway Council. The next local Council elections are due in May 2027.
Where are we?
The geographic center of the constituency is the junction of the A278 and the A2 known locally as the Bowater Roundabout. The constituency encompasses Gillingham and Rainham and extends along the A2, boundered by the River Medway to the north and the M2 to the south.
