PARKING CHARGES UP 185%

The Labour run Medway Council have sent parking charges 185% whilst also ignoring calls to reduce the cost of the resident parking permits and scrapping free parking. These thoughtless anti-car price hikes are destroying Gillingham High Street and impacting family budgets.

FREE SWIMMING SCRAPPED

The Labour run Medway Council scrapped free swimming for the under 16s and the over 60s, whilst also increasing the cost of admission. This has sadly made swimming at Medway Park (Black Lion) and the Strand unaffordable for many local families.

WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE

Labour's economy wrecking budget included scrapping the winter fuel allowance which has callously plunged pensioners into difficulty at a time of cold weather and rising bills.

Saboor will renew calls to reduce the cost of resident parking permits and to restore the Conservative policy of free parking in the town centre.

Saboor will challenge the Labour run Medway Council to restore free swimming sessions for local families at Medway Park (Black Lion) and the Strand.

HIGH STREET

Saboor will be fighting to restore the Conservative policy of free parking for the High Street and for increased police patrols in the area.

MEDWAY HOSPITAL

Saboor has been a long term campaigner for a new hospital to serve residents of Gilligham. Saboor believes the local issues of the hospital on the current site will be best served by a new hospital.
